A winter day in Auckland, a thought-provoking exhibition, and a quiet moment of returning to my creative practice. After visiting Forever Tomorrow, I came home and let watercolour express what words couldn't. A slow journal about art, movement, and listening to myself.
Over the past few years, my creative practice has quietly evolved. What began as a simple curiosity about watercolour has slowly grown into a visual diary - shaped by slow walks, everyday moments, and the changing seasons of life. In this video, I wanted to share a little more about who I am, how this channel began.
My days have become quieter. I spend less time in my studio and more time reading, moving my body, and simply being at home. Somewhere along the way, I realised that creativity no longer feels like something I have to chase. It quietly appears in the way I live.
A quiet, creative moment inspired by changing seasons, family life, and the small fragments of time I find to paint. This is a gentle reflection on how my art and life continue to shift together.
The wind and rain have been relentless these past few days, but they’ve gifted me a quiet season for staying in. I finally took a moment to tidy my desk and bring my notebooks back into order - a small ritual that helps me settle into the creative flow.
Recently, my work has been inspired by traditional Chinese bogu paintings - compositions of simple objects arranged with calm, balance, and space to breathe.
Living by the sea reminds me that strength can be gentle, and depth doesn’t need to be loud.
I made a collage piece about slowing down, returning to play, and listening to that steady blue energy moving beneath it all.
